Help our Artisan Mary rebuild her life

March 08, 2014

Our artisan, Mary, experienced a fire in her home on March 5, which destroyed most of her possessions. Our featured items for March, found on our website home page,  are all assembled by Mary.  She is an important part of our team. Purchase any of these items between now and March 17th with the code "MARY" and 50% of your purchase will go to help Mary rebuild her life.   You may also make a donation to our NEW disaster relief fund, which will allow us to help Mary and other artisans in a time of crisis. The items listed here in the March Makeover collection will apply to the relief fund. (http://backtoafrica.myshopify.com/) Check back with us for updates as we look forward...

What's in a name?

September 30, 2011

We’re in the process of launching a new line of jewelry.  It is so exciting to see new designs and plans coming together after months of….well, labor.  We’ve labored over our new line to make it the best it can possibly be; more trendy, cutting edge, fun, and wearable.  As mother of three kids, I can say from experience it’s somewhat similar to the birthing process.   You conceive an idea, and it has to germinate in your mind.  It grows and begins to take shape, begins to have a specific form and substance.  Then you feed yourself other ideas and exercise by trying to put it together, see if it will turn out the way you envision it.  Then...
